Five selected for Asia Rugby U-17 Championship

Five players from Bhubaneswar-based Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences have been included in the 11-member India girls’ team for the Asia Rugby U-17 Championship (Youth Olympic Games - Asia Qualifiers), scheduled to be held at Dubai Sports City, Dubai, UAE on November 29 and 30, 2017.

The five are: Jemamani Naik, Prabati Kisku, Lija Sardar, Sumitra Nayak and Soni Mandangi. The Indian team was trained for week by USA Sevens Rugby Head coach Mike Friday at Mumbai. The camp for the Indian team was held at Bombay Gymkhana, Mumbai from November 7 to 26, 2017.

INDIA U-17 GIRLS TEAM: Rushmita Oraon, Sandhya Rai, Asha Araon (West Bengal - Jungle Crows); Urshila Khariya (West Bengal - Adibasi); Jemamani Naik, Prabati Kisku, Lija Sardar, Sumitra Nayak, Soni Mandangi (all Odisha - KISS); Sweety Kumari (Bihar - RFAB Patna); Sultana, Priya (Delhi - Delhi Hurricanes).
